Navigating Shifts in Security: Key Insights from ISC West 2025

At ISC West 2025, the conversations happening off the show floor proved just as valuable as the technologies on display. With a strong TEECOM presence in Las Vegas, our team focused on what we do best: strengthening relationships, gaining insight into evolving client priorities, and deepening our position as a trusted industry partner.

While some years are marked by breakout technologies, this year’s event highlighted a different kind of momentum—one grounded in strategic growth, budget-conscious planning, and thoughtful system evolution.

From On-Prem to SaaS: A Shift in Access Control Strategy

One of the most common themes our team heard from clients and partners was the continued re-examination of the difference between traditional on-premise security systems and the rising popularity of SaaS-based solutions—especially in access control.

Historically, physical security systems have operated with minimal ongoing investment, often running “until failure.” But that model is shifting. As the industry moves to mirror IT’s emphasis on technology refreshes, many security leaders are grappling with how to justify the recurring costs — especially when budgets remain tight.

The takeaway? SaaS isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. For some clients without dedicated security teams, it offers convenience and reduced internal burden. For others, it's a tough sell without clear ROI. TEECOM’s role is to help clients navigate these decisions through detailed planning and future-proof system architecture.

Budget Pressures, But Fewer Bottlenecks

While “do more with less” continues to be a familiar refrain, our team was encouraged to hear that many clients are no longer facing major supply chain issues. Manufacturers have largely stabilized their production timelines, created secondary product sourcing, and equipment availability is no longer a primary concern.

Still, budget concerns persist—especially in the wake of ongoing tariff discussions. As construction costs rise and general contractors revisit previously bid projects, TEECOM can provide alternate product solutions and/or value engineering ideas that can help our clients adapt to evolving market pressures.

Connections That Drive Impact

This year’s ISC West was about more than products—it was about people. Our team spent the majority of the conference facilitating meaningful client interactions, hosting roundtable discussions, and helping our partners connect with peers in similar industries.

These moments weren’t just networking opportunities; they were strategic touchpoints. From introducing clients to peers pursuing parallel security upgrades to sharing lessons learned on recent deployments, TEECOM positioned itself as a hub for collaboration. Our goal? To build not just systems, but to provide value and predictable outcomes to our client’s security programs.

Looking Ahead

While the tech headlines may not have changed much—AI continues to dominate marketing language without always delivering real-world results—TEECOM is focused on what matters most: building long-term value, delivering reliable solutions, constructable designs, and empowering our clients to lead the way.
