The TEECOM Way: Insights From our Newest TEEm Members

What does it actually feel like to join a fully remote firm that operates at the gold standard of the industry? To explore this further, we sat down with ten of our newest team members, a cohort that spans from People Operations to Project Delivery and ranges from seasoned professionals to those taking their very first steps into the workforce.

A Two-Way Street Interview Process

Oftentimes, an interview can feel like a one-sided evaluation rather than a two-way conversation. At TEECOM, our new hires described it as a "candid, honest exchange." We use a Topgrading approach to ensure we are hiring A-players, but we also recognize that the candidate is interviewing us just as much as we are interviewing them. We want both sides to feel confident about finding a long-term fit. The process is deliberate. Whether a deep-dive technical session or a high-level strategy talk, every conversation is designed to add clarity, not redundancy.

“The interviews were generally quite conversational, it was more of a chat with them and went into some depth on some questions. Generally speaking, it was quite conversational and friendly, it felt quite relaxed.” — Tony Hillier, Associate

The Art of Effective Onboarding

One of the most consistent pieces of feedback from our new cohort was the relief of an effective onboarding process. TEECOM prioritizes building confidence from day one by providing structured training journeys through Bridge, giving new hires dedicated time to learn our systems, processes, and language. This isn't a solo mission, either. TEECOM’s team structure is designed for growth and support: each new team member is paired with a senior team member who serves as both mentor and manager. This approach ensures that guidance, learning opportunities, and meaningful work are delegated directly, fostering professional development and a sense of belonging from day one. In addition, every new hire is paired with a TEECOM Buddy, providing a peer connection for day-to-day questions and cultural integration. Team members consistently shared how welcomed they felt from day one, noting the willingness across the firm to step in, answer questions, and help them confidently navigate this new chapter.

“From the interview process, to onboarding, to my new TEEm - everything has been intentional and top tier. I’ve never felt more welcomed into an environment that is this transparent, this accountable, and this invested in both culture and clients.” — Anjalyna Pierre, Designer READ MORE

Remote Culture Built on Trust

There is a common myth that remote work equals a loss of connection. Our new hires found the opposite to be true. TEECOM overcomes the distance through radical transparency, discussing goals in public Slack channels, hosting "Ask Me Anything" sessions with leadership, and celebrating wins together through Bonusly shoutouts.

“The remote aspect works because TEECOM has a lot of tools to keep you connected, whether that is Slack, Donut chats, or the coffee breaks. TEECOM is proactively trying to counteract the distance of not being in the office together. It’s a high-performing culture and team; I really enjoy being a part of it.” — Austin Sims, Associate Principal, Client Relations

Growth Without a Ceiling

At TEECOM, we don’t just want you to excel in your current seat; we want you to envision your next one. This is facilitated through TEECOM Grow, our dedicated pathway for professional development. This program fosters collaboration, enabling team members to engage in meaningful career discussions with key stakeholders—including managers, mentors, leadership, and our people operations team—ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to achieve their goals.

Your Future at TEECOM

To wrap up our conversation, we asked our new hires what they would tell someone who is considering joining TEECOM.

"Join, join, join. It is evident that this is a top employer. I’m excited about where the culture and structure is going." — Donald Ross, Associate Principal

“Wherever you’re at in your career, it’s a great place to be. If you are just getting started, you will be able to grow and learn because of the resources and support available to you. If you’re a senior level, you have a lot of freedom. You’re trusted to own your work without someone looking over your shoulder.” – Aaron Barrera, Associate
